Garage Sailing

I have spent the last week digging through old totes of Zack's clothes getting ready for an epic garage sale.  After much thought and contemplation we have decided after this baby, we are done.  I have made my peace with it, I'm 100% ok with the two children thing but the garage sale and I, we are going rounds.

My fear is that she will come out a boy, and I will cry.  A LOT!!  The ultrasound tech said she got an excellent picture, that if it were her child she would 100% assume girl so I feel fairly confident but there is still that little nagging voice.

Don't jump too quickly.  What if something goes wrong?  What if the ultrasound lady was wrong?

Never the less, I am trying my best to ignore said voice and prepare myself.  I don't want to wait until after she is born to do this, it will be September / October and I will probably just have to wait until next year.  I want to purge my attic and more importantly, I want to make a little cash to buy the few, seriously expensive, items we do not have.

Stroller & car seat
Breast Pump (our insurance doesn't cover... boo to them)

That is $550 - $650 right there.... OUCH!!

So, onward and upward we go.  Sorting and pricing and sorting and pricing.

Anyone want to come help me price clothes and toys?  No?  Oh come on... it will be fun...  :-)

In the grand scheme of things, even if the baby came out a boy it's not as if he would be naked because you got rid of the boy things :-) You would simply have another garage sale to sell your girl things and go buy boy things at someone else's garage sale!

LOL at Jennifer.
Not to make you nuts but my neighbor was expecting a girl, ultrasounds every two weeks the last two months, did the room in Beatrix Potter pink and when the baby came out the dad AND the doctor both said "Oh my god" and my friend thought there was something wrong with their little girl. Well, she did have a penis that had been tucked up toward "her" tummy and what they thought were girl parts, were actually their sons ass crack. Just sayin ;-)

So maybe you keep a few of your favorite boy outfits just in case?

I think you should be fine.

They could never tell with Mack, but she was an uncooperative little thing. Multiple ultrasounds, and they could never get a good peak.

Then again, it was nearly 20 years ago, so ultrasound has gotten much better than it was then. (That makes me sound really freaking old, doesn't it?)

I don't know what you've researched for breast pumps, but I used an ameda brand pump for 2.5 kids and LOVED it. It was one that you could do both sides at the same time and operated both on batteries or an outlet. Found it brand new & sealed in the box on a popular auction website for about $150. And it came with the same warranty that it would come with through a regular store. It was used multiple times daily for about 6 months to a year with my three youngest kids. So, if you're looking at a hospital grade one, I'm here to say you don't necessarily have to get a $300 pump to get a good one.
Good luck with the sale and Congrats!!
